Local Veterans Day Celebrations.
This year’s Phoenix Veterans Day Parade will be a virtual celebration. The event entitled “USA, A Beacon of Liberty” will be streamed LIVE on Facebook and YouTube on 11 NOV 2020 at 11 am (AZ Time). Be sure to check the following LINK for the Live Event Countdown and links to the event. We will be able to Honor Our Heroes and view presentations by our Veteran Grand Marshals, who will be representing each era of conflict from WWII to the present day. We are pleased to let you know that one of our EXCOM and Chapter’s member, LTC (R) Dave Clukey, was selected to be this year’s Operation Enduring Freedom Honoree. East Valley Veterans “Reverse” Parade. The East Valley Veterans Parade Association (EVVPA), an all-volunteer, community event, non-profit organization, will be holding its 15th annual East Valley Veterans Parade in Mesa, AZ. This year’s parade theme is “Celebrating Lives of Service” to honor those of our veterans who continue to give back to their community even after their military service ends. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s parade will be held as a Reverse Parade – meaning the displays will be stationary and the public will be driving past to maintain social distancing. The parade will be held on Wednesday, 11 NOV 2020 from 11am to 2pm at Center Street and University Drive in downtown Mesa. More information can be found on the EVVP Website.
Town of Carefree Veterans Day Celebration. Join the town of Carefree at the Veterans Memorial Sundial at on 11 NOV 2020 at 6:57 a.m. for the raising of the American Flag. Veteran Highlights will take place at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. with guest speakers. Students from Cactus Shadows High School will display its Veterans Heritage Project Conflict Exhibit panels.
