Due to last night’s flooding of the National Cemetery, the military honors ceremony for COL (Ret) Park Shaw that was scheduled to take place at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, 5 August 2016 is cancelled.
The church service is still scheduled to be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, 6 August at the Pinnacle Presbyterian Church at 25150 North Pima Road, Scottsdale, 85255. Tributes to Park should be made at this event as the cemetery ceremony will be limited to 30 minutes due to their very tight schedule.
Also, the reception/gathering from 3:30 to 5:00 P.M. is still scheduled to follow the church service at the Carefree Inn/Carefree Resort and Conference Center located at 37220 North Mule Train Road, Carefree, AZ 85377. Directions from the church (which is near the intersection of Happy Valley and Pima Roads) to the Inn are as follows: go north on Pima Road to East Stagecoach Pass Road. Turn left and go west about one mile on East Stagecoach Pass Road. Turn right and go north on North Mule Trail Road, crossing Cave Creek Road. The Carefree Inn will be on the left, across from the Desert Forest Golf Club.
